Week 1
  • Tuesday
    • Preparation for class: Register i>clicker or REEF for smartphone, buy textbook, register for MyMathlab.
    • Chapter 1 class notes (print and bring to class, or make sure you're able to modify it using tablet/computer)
  • Thursday
    • Continue to bring Chapter 1 notes
    • Preparation for class: If you have not done so yet: register i>clicker, buy textbook, register for MyMathlab. Quickly read Chapter 1 of textbook, paying more careful attention to concepts that you forgot/never learned.

Week 2
  • Tuesday
    • Continue to bring Lecture 1 class notes.
    • Filled notes for Week 1
    • Preparation for class: Read textbook Section 2.1 and 2.2.
    • Week 2 class notes (print and bring to class, or make sure you're able to modify it using tablet/computer)
  • Thursday
    • Continue to bring Week 2 class notes.
    • Week 2 class notes (part 2) (print and bring to class, or make sure you're able to modify it using tablet/computer)

Week 3
  • Tuesday
    • Preparation for class: Read textbook Section 2.3 and 2.4.
    • Week 3 class notes (print and bring to class).
  • Thursday
    • Preparation for class: Read textbook Section 2.6

Week 4

    • Preparation for class: Read textbook Section 3.1-3.2. Note that signs tables are not taught in the book, this is an additional topic covered in this class.

Week 5
  • Tuesday
    • Chapter 3 notes (print and bring to class).
    • Preparation for class: Read textbook Section 3.4-3.6.
    • Here is a practice midterm for next week. Make sure you do it! Answers will be posted on Saturday.
  • Thursday

    • Midterm review session, 1-2pm, in BE 358.

Week 6:
  • Tuesday: MIDTERM!!!
    • Preparation for Midterm: Make sure to do the practice midterm!!!
    • Instructions for midterm: (1) BE ON TIME. (2) Calculators/phones/etc.. will not be allowed. (3) Bring a pencil and eraser.
    • Here is a formula sheet to help you focus on which formulas to learn. You MAY NOT bring the sheet with you to the exam. Note that the formula sheet contains all the formulas you will need to know for the final, and includes material which we have not covered in the class yet.
    • ANSWERS TO THE PRACTICE MIDTERM (only read them after you have tried to complete it)
  • Thursday
    • Continue to bring Chapter 4 class notes.
