Grading rubric: Interactive Vector Field Creation (15), White Noise Image (5), LIC Visualization (30), Artistic LIC (20), Artistic Brushing (10), Documentation/Efficiency (20)
Here's a short compilation of the better ideas from students who already have an approved project. Also, consider pairing up for your final project.
Note that unless your selected topic is listed under the Topic (2nd) column, your prelim proposal ideas are up for grab by others. There are a few overlaps already e.g. sound/audio visualizers; and particle systems. Note that particle systems by themselves are not acceptable as final projects (too easy). If you want to do something with particle systems, it must be in conjunction with something else and/or it's modified in some interesting way. There are also a few other proposals which I've turned down primarily because there is not much visualization/animation content.
For those who do have an approved final project, you'll notice that the link of your topic does not point anywhere yet. That's where the next project related deadline comes in -- final project proposal. See last year's final project proposals for examples, and this year's guidelines.
