Mar 18: Check out the class project page! The project grades are not finalized yet. Most people did very well on the functionality portion. Most people did not do as well on the documentation portion -- as I mentioned this class meets a writing requirement and most writeups don't come close. Also, lots of animation projects don't have an animation clip or a working executable. Check your links to see if things are fine or not. You should also get an email from Lourdes. I have to submit my grades this Friday by midnight.
Mar 16: I just got a note from campus IT services: ``We will need to reset the disk quotas on the morning of April 5th from 1Gb to 250MB for your students in cmps161. Please remind them that their disk quotas will revert back to the 250Mb default as of the 5th and advise them to back up their data.''
Mar 15: Midterm 2 has been graded.
Mar 15: Ken Perlin (of Perlin noise fame) is giving a talk tomorrow -- Tuesday, March 16!

Feb 26: Prog4 is now updated.
Feb 26: Pixar has some summer internships available.
Feb 16: Our project status presentation is in 2 weeks! If you have not submitted a final project proposal yet, an additional 1% penalty will be levied if they're not received by this Friday.
Feb 8: Final proposals were received and added to the approved project list. If your project does not have a link, or title, you are not up-to-date with the project requirements. Also, I have sent some of you an email feedback about your final proposals. If you didn't get one, then you're okay. The last column also indicates the timeliness of your submissions so far.
Feb 8: Mid1 has been graded. If your score is showing up as 0, this means you forgot to sign page 1.
Feb 5: On Feb 12, Friday, there's a talk by Michael Neff on Animating the Gesture Style of Particular Individuals from 12 noon in E2-599.
Feb 2: Prog2 data is up, please check the forum for an explanation of the data.
Feb 1: Prog1 is now graded.
Jan 29: Prog2 is now available.
Jan 21: Prog0 grades are now available. (Except for the 3 students who need to demo their programs to the grader).
Jan 20: Prog1 has been updated. Lab attendance has also been very low, please note the times above for lab days.
Jan 15: Prog1 is now ready.
Jan 13: Prog0 is extended to 9:30am Monday, Jan 18. Programs turned in prior to 9:30am on Sunday are considered early. Programs turned in after the deadline up until 9:30am Tuesday, Jan 19 are considered late.
Jan 07: IEEE Visualization is the main conference for visualization. They usually run an annual visualization contest. Past entries are usually submitted by teams. If you are interested, this could potentially be a final project for cmps 161 also.
Jan 06: The lab times/location posted in my.ucsc.edu is out-of-date. The correct ones are listed here and in the lab schedule info above. Lab sections meet in SS1-135, and not in Kresge 317.
