We have two graphics labs on campus: one in 213 Applied Science building and the other in Porter College. There are 10 SGI Indys in each lab. You should be able to get an account for both labs and work from either lab. However, the machines may not be on the same file server, requiring you to transfer files around. For this class, we will primarily use the machines in 213 AS. Here's a list of them. Clicking on a machine will open a login window.
The machines in the Porter lab, can be accessed by selecting one of the following:
cp -r directory_name ~
Where directory_name is the name of the directory you want to copy to your home directory. Note that -r makes the cp command recursive and ~ is an alias for your home directory, thus this command will make a copy of the given directory_name and its contents into your home directory.
Online GL Information
There is useful online information about OpenGL that can be accessed
using the iiv command. iiv stands for IRIS InSight Library and
is like the unix man command, as it will provide you with
a list of the online manuals available on the SGI machines in 213.
Specifically, the OpenGL Programming Guide and OpenGL
Reference Manual are available under the section SGI_Developer.
