WINGS I Project

Current (real time) WINGs link reliability graphs.

The WINGS I project is being developed by the Computer Communication Research Group, Computer Engineering Board, University of California, Santa Cruz in conjuntion with Rooftop Communications, Los Altos, CA.

The WINGS use a channel access protocol called FAMA-NCS (Floor Acquisition Multiple Access - Non-Persistent Carrier Sensing). The first such network developed at UCSC is the FAMA network.

The first demonstration of the WING was given at the DARPA GloMo PI meeting in July. Here are some exciting snap shots of the WINGs flying across the state line between California and Nevada. This page has been visited (from 9/20/96)
