Chane Fullmer


Chane Fullmer graduated from the Computer Engineering Board, Jack Baskin School of Engineering, at the University of California, Santa Cruz in June 1998 with a Doctorate in Computer Engireering.

He earned his B.S. degree in Computer Science from Fresno State University in 1991. In June of 1994 he earned his M.S. degree in Computer Information Sciences from the University of California, Santa Cruz. In June 1998 he completed his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering with his advisor J.J. Garcia-Luna-Aceves.

Chane is an alumni of the Computer Communication Research Group. His projects included designing, analyzing and implementing channel access protocols for wireless networks. The first such network developed at UCSC is the FAMA network. An extension of the FAMA protocol is being used in the DARPA sponsored WINGS projects at UCSC.

He is now very happily retired from Rooftop Communications (Nokia), the developers of the C++ Protocol Toolkit (CPT), and partners in the WINGS and SPARROW projects with UCSC. In the recent past he designed a WEB page for the current release CPT Class Hierarchy. The HTML documents were generated with a tool Chane rewrote called the ClassCruz'r.

On November 1, 2002, he will have been married twenty-seven years, and to the same woman! His wife's name is Helen , They currently have two children Gy Stuart and Mackenzie Rae .

Chane has many hobbies, including blowing a little harp when the mood is right. He is also and avid 'O' Scale model railroder, modeling 30s/40s era traction equipment. Chane also keeps a minature coral reef aquarium at home. Pictures are sure to be coming soon..

He is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and of the IEEE Computer Society.
