I am a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science, Baskin School of Engineering, University of California, Santa Cruz working with Dr. Yi Zhang and I am expecting to graduate in June 2008. I obtained my Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering from the PSG College of Technology, India in 2006.
My research interests primarily lie in the domain of Information Retrieval and Data Mining. I also have considerable interests in the fields of applied Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
My thesis is on developing feature-rich mobile applications leveraging on user behavioural profiles in collaboration with the Nokia Research Center, Palo Alto. This research is being conducted as an integral part of the Proactive Personalized Information Integration and Retrieval (PIIR) research project at UCSC. [read more]
I was a research intern at Google Inc., Mountain View last summer, under the mentorship of Dr. Bill Schilit and Dr. Samy Bengio. I worked on applying machine learning and data mining techniques to efficiently handle email overload. [read more]
I received the Graduate Division Fellowship from UCSC for the year 2007 and the KISMT award from the Center for Knowledge, Information Systems, and Management of Technology, UCSC in 2006 for scholastic and leadership achievements. At PSG Tech, I was ranked in the top 2% of students during 2002-2006.
