Brief Bio
Ahmed Amer is a doctoral candidate working with Prof. Darrell D. E. Long, in the Computer Science Department of the University of California, Santa Cruz. He is a member of the Computer Systems Laboratory (CSL), part of the recently established Storage Systems Research Center (SSRC) in the School of Engineering.
Research Interests
His dissertation research focuses on automated data grouping with applications to data placement, caching, and to mobile file hoarding. He is especially interested in research involving advanced storage technologies. He has also worked with Profs. Long and Helmbold on the predictive power conservation problem.
