Master's Degree Computer Engineering -
Network Engineering Emphasis

Introduction
The UCSC Master's in Computer Engineering with an emphasis in network engineering program is designed to educate engineers and technical professionals to enter and practice the highly specialized field of network engineering. Higher education plays a central role in the continued success and viability of Santa Clara Valley's companies and its overall economy by providing specialized programs and advanced degrees. This program was created for this purpose.
The program begins with a set of core and foundation courses and continues with a set of elective courses focused on advanced topics to allow students to built expertise in specific areas. The courses are taught by full-time faculty at the University and adjunct faculty who are practicing engineers in the industry.
All courses are offered at the UCSC Silicon Valley Center. Applications are accepted throughout the year with one or more courses offered per quarter. The program is designed for working engineers who have earned a bachelor of science or higher degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering or a related technical discipline. It is of most immediate interest to engineers who are or soon will be working in the field designing or developing network systems, components, products or services.
Classes by Videoconferencing
In order to make access and participation in this program as convenient as possible to engineers living and working in the Santa Clara Valley, modern instructional technologies are utilized extensively, including internet applications and videoconferencing. Currently, most lectures in this video conferenced program are televised from the campus to UCSC SVC classroom facility using two way audio and video technology.
Relation to Campus Program
All courses offered through this program are also available on campus. Students interested in more traditional full-time graduate study including financial aid should apply to our on-campus graduate program in Computer Engineering.
