Q: Can you help me
tell if my sequence has a yeast-like intron?
A:Sure! Go to Leslie Grate's
"Search
for introns in your sequence
" page. You can search for sequences similar to S. cerevisiae
introns. All you need to do is paste your sequence and set a few parameters.
This program can be used on DNA from any organism! Positive results
do not imply your sequence is actually removed by splicing, and negative
results do not mean it is not.
Q: Which introns are found
in 5' UTRs of yeast mRNAs? I can't seem to find this information in
SGD.
A: Neither can we, so we
try to keep it in our database. For up to the minute results you can
either search for "utr" in the Ares lab comments field on the
Intron Table Text Search
form. Or click here
for a static version of the recent results of such a search.
Q: Can I get a list of
introns in snoRNA genes and those introns that are known to contain snoRNAs?
A: Click
here
for a recent static list. Or search for "snoRNA" in the Ares lab comments
field on the
Intron Table Text Search
form.
