CBT courses

Taking online CBT training for CMPE003

From the lab PC's, start CBT by selecting it from the "Help and Training" of the Start menu. To login use the following:

	Student ID:	your CATS login name
	Password:	your Teleslug pin
			(NOT your CATS account password)

In the course list that you see when you login, select the course you are interested in taking.

Suggested course topics are:

Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
Operating systems: Windows 95, 98, NT; Unix.
Web authoring, meaning HTML primarily.

As you take courses on CBT, CATS reports those courses and how well you did on them to the class staff, so there is nothing to turn in. To receive credit, you must complete 80% of a course or take its exams and score at least 80%.

It is possible, students report, possible to use CBT over the web from campus dorm rooms. There is a client to download from the CATS site (installation instructions). I am not sure CBT works from off-campus.
