CMP200 Grading -- Fall 02

Your performance in this class will be based on regular attendance, participation in discussions, and turning in the three assignments we will give you. We will make special note in the evaluations of those who contribute to the class by sharing their expertise and/or opinions. Attendance will be taken within 15 minutes of the start of each class.

You will receive a passing grade in CMP200 if you miss no more than two of the lectures and satisfactorily complete at least two of the three assignments. Note that attemdance will be checked again near the end of the class. You will be given credit for attending half of the class if you arrive late or leave early.

You will be graded with S/U in CMP200. If you elect the letter grade option when you enroll in this course, you will be graded B/F instead.

Incompletes will be given only for medical and family emergencies. In this event, you must request an incomplete from the instructor before the end of the quarter (December 5).

Academic Integrity

All course work should be your own work. You may consult with the instructors, the TA and other students, verbally and possibly with the use of a board. However the work you submit must be your own.

This means that any electronic files submitted on-line or used to generate a hardcopy for submission must have been entirely produced by you alone. If you work with someone in front of a terminal, you cannot use any of the files that result from your collaboration; you must reproduce the results by yourself afterwards from keystrokes alone. If someone requests that you send them a file on-line for this course (or any course), please report this to the instructor.

Furthermore, any collaboration must be acknowledged in the submitted work.

We take cheating very seriously. Any cases will be reported to the Graduate Dean and the assignment involved will be treated as unsatisfactory.
