Video

There are 2 types of video in my collection.

The first type is captured using a digital video camcorder. These were downloaded to a PC as avi files. The avi files were then compressed using the DivX codec (via the VirtualDub program) and can be viewed using Windows Media Player (I heard there's a patch for Mac players as well). The patch for PC's can be obtained on the web by searching for DivX, or you can downloade it from here.

The second type of video is created by putting together a bunch of jpg images. The software I use is called "convert" and is part of the Imagick package. These videos are generally from 2002 onwards and have much higher resolution.

Images

Earlier images were from a lower resolution digital camera, or stills from a video camera. More recent ones from Spring 2002 were from an Olympus E-100RS digital camera. It has 1.5 million super sharp pixels. It's has great optics (10x optical zoom, with option of going to 27x with digital zoom) and can capture upto 15 frames per second. Unfortunately, this model is not available anymore :-(

Some of the images in the collection are from other folks like Ed Scott and the indefatigable Steve Hamman.
